A healthier planet starts with you! Community Compost Company transforms your food scraps into food for the soil.

What is composting?

Composting is the biological process of recycling organic materials, like food scraps, into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. This amendment, called compost, is used in gardening and agriculture to improve the quality of the soil. Community Compost Co. will pick up your food scraps and do the rest of the hard work creating nutrient-rich compost. We consider it Vitamin C for the soil!

Why compost?

Composting helps fight climate change. Keeping food waste out of landfills reduces greenhouse gas emissions and returning compost to the soil conserves water, prevents soil erosion, and promotes healthier plant growth

Small change. Big impact. Better planet.

Small change.

With a change as simple as sorting your food scraps, you can make a big difference for the planet and fight waste by revealing how much food you throw away. Community Compost makes it easy, all you need to do is dispose of your food scraps in the provided bucket and set it outside each week for pick-up. It’s just like recycling!

“I love what this company has done to bring composting to so many communities in our region!”-Mary T

Big impact.

Food takes up more space in US landfills than any other type of waste. Composting diverts food scraps from the waste stream and when added back into the soil, compost restores vital nutrients that are essential for healthy plants.

“This is such a great service. Feels good to reduce my contribution to landfill” – Sangeetha S

Better planet.

Composting is an action you can take each day to mitigate the effects of climate change. Food scraps in landfills produce 20 times the equivalent CO2 emissions of composting.

Applying compost to soil:

  • Improves soil health

  • Increases crop yield and vegetation

  • Enhances habitat and biodiversity

  • Protects food security

  • Creates resilient ecosystems

How it works:

We provide a 5-gallon bucket for your food scraps and pick-up weekly or biweekly. Each collection we leave you a clean bucket. We turn your food scraps into compost. You can opt to receive finished compost 2x/year or if you don’t need it, we’ll donate your share!
